Last June, we were lucky to have found Romulo Soto to work at the Uplift Thrift. Unfortunately, Rom had to return to his home country, Cost Rica, for personal reasons and we are now beginning our search for his replacement. If you know someone who might be interested in a part-time position with a purpose-driven organization and a fun, supportive team, please share the attached job posting with them.
Don’t Sell June’s Boot Things
June and the Shoe Department use these to keep boots upright and looking nice in our shop. If someone is buying a pair of boots with this inside, please, take them out and return them to the back room.
Thank you!
Leave Name Tags + Aprons on the Door
Please leave your name tag and apron on the front and back of this door at the end of your shift.
If too many Barbs or Lindas take a name tag home, there won’t be one for the next Barb or Linda when they arrive. And we don’t want that. Leaving the name tag on the door at the end of the day also prevents it from getting lost in your car or at home. :)
Also, a reminder, if you feel an apron needs to be washed, please add it to the laundry being done at the shop rather than taking it home.
Wind Beneath Our Wings Award
Our amazing President, Carrie, has started the monthly “Wind Beneath Our Wings” nomination and award. The poster and nominating box are to the left of the kitchen table.
Here’s what Carrie says:
"You will soon see two posters, one in the thrift shop and one in the program’s office, inviting you to nominate a fellow member for doing something truly uplifting. Near the posters, there will be boxes for you to put your nominations. This will be a monthly award presented at the monthly Regular Meeting. Let’s recognize our quiet heroes who help us soar."
