January Shop Talk

Shop Talk

The place where you can find updates and info about the latest happenings in the Thrift Shop.

Hello Lovely People,

Happy New Year to you all!

I hope you all had a wonderful and restful holiday season.

The shop is back in full swing, and our customers are quite happy about it.

I have several things to share with you, so let’s get to it.

Vintage…Isn’t Vintage Anymore

The Vintage Team has embraced the new year with a new name! They are now “Collectibles.” This new name is more inclusive of the variety of items they sort through and price.

Where will you see this change?

The Collectibles Team will still be using the “Vintage” barcode stickers until they run out. Please note, when you scan a “Vintage” barcode it will show up on the register as “Collectibles.”

Help Wanted!

The Jewelry Team is looking to add another person to help with costume jewelry. Ideally, this person would be available on Tuesdays during shop hours.

Sleeping Bag & Blanket Drive

Did you know that we partner with two outreach organizations who offer support to people experiencing homelessness? The Coconut Hut and Salt Lake Mutual Aid do a wonderful job of providing essential goods to people in need.

Right now, these organizations are looking for sleeping bags and blankets to give out, and we’d love to help how we can. So, if you have extra sleeping bags or blankets lying around that you don’t use, we will be collecting them specifically for the Coconut Hut and Salt Lake Mutual Aid during the last two weeks of January!

When you bring them in, please find Susan Erickson, Carin Steinvoort, or me so your contributions don’t get mixed in with our everyday donations.

Got Puzzles?

As always, thank you for all you do to make this shop the wonderful and magical place that it is! I’m excited to be entering a new year with you all!

Until next time,

Abby
