October 23, 2024 Shop Talk The place where you can find updates and info about the latest happenings in the Thrift Shop. What’s New Thursday Nights Starting November 7th, the Consociates will be running the Thrift Shop from 4-7pm on Thursdays. We’re so excited to give our customers more time in the store! To the Consociates who are volunteering to make this happen, Thank You!! We’re overjoyed to have you more involved with the Shop. FAQ - Abby will be staying from 4-7pm on Thursdays and will be the one to close the registers. - The Donation Center will NOT be open. - The fence store will NOT be open. We will pull the curtain at 4pm. - There will be no one working in the back to sort or price items. Locked Knife Box All kitchen knives (and scissors, blades, or anything sharp) now has its own locked box. The box is located in the Housewares area next to the “Kitchen Tools” label. The key for the box is in the drawer of the north register. The Housewares department also has a key if needed. Weekend Donation Bin If you’re ever working on a weekend (Sunday or Monday) and you bring some donations with you, please put them in the bin that has the “Weekend Donations” sign on it. Please don’t leave items on the tables. It helps the garage stay organized. Thanks! :) Logging Volunteer Hours I have relocated the forms for logging member and community volunteer hours. It is now behind kitchen door. There’s a spot for blank forms and completed forms. The “community volunteer hours” binder is in the top bin. Hopefully, this will serve as a more consistent and accessible spot for where these forms live. Things to Note bear with me…just a little bit more info Holiday Closures We are quickly approaching the Holiday Season! With that comes some shop closures. Please plan accordingly. THANKSGIVING CLOSURES Wednesday, November 27th Thursday, November 28th We ARE OPEN on Friday the 29th! If you’re available and can help, that would be wonderful. CHRISTMAS CLOSURES Tuesday, December 24th through Wednesday, January 1st. We will start off 2025 on Thursday, January 2nd! The Mayor is Coming! The Assistance Legue Thrift Shop is being recognized as the Millcreek business of the month. What an honor! Mayor Silvestrini and the City Council are coming to visit and take pictures on Monday the 28th. Let’s make sure the shop is looking top notch. :) Now you can take a sigh of relief.
