Welcome to Shop Talk The place where you can find updates and info about the latest happenings in the Thrift Store. Hi everyone! I can’t believe it’s already been 6 months since starting at the Thrift Shop. Now that I’m feeling a little more settled in, I wanted to find a better way to communicate with alllll of you lovely people who work in the shop. My hope is that this newsletter will be just that. As most things do, I’m sure this newsletter will evolve and (hopefully) get better with time. So, bear with me as I navigate these first editions. I’d love any feedback or input for what you’d like to see here. - Abby Now, let’s jump into it. What’s New? POS As you all probably know by now, we have gotten new registers out front. They have given us our fair share of problems thus far, but Liz Quealy and I have been working hard to contact Talech and get the glitches fixed. Talech is aware of the issues and working on an update to fix the bugs. Keep your fingers crossed and your hopes high. For those of you who have worked at the registers, THANK YOU for your patience and understanding. Christmas It’s beginning to look a lot like Christmas Everywhere you go Christmas is steadily increasing in the front of store, and our customers are quite happy about it. Christmas clothes will go out the first week of November. The lit cases along the back wall will also transform into a Christmas wonderland come November. Men’s Clothing Tags All men’s clothing will now have a black circle or line on the tag. Yay! If you’re working the floor, please be mindful of this. No more guessing if that button-up is a men’s or women’s. IMPORTANT VOLGISTICS UPDATE

Starting November 5th, you'll notice a change in the openings for the front of store. I've turned each position, outside of the Shift Manager, to cover 2 time slots. So, you can now sign up to work from 12-2 or 2-4. If you can or want to work the full day, please do! Just sign up for both time slots. The Shift Manager will be the only position required to be at the store from 12-4.

If you were already on the schedule starting November 5th, I have put your name to cover BOTH time slots for the position you were originally scheduled for. If this doesn’t work for you, please adjust accordingly.

I’ve heard from many of you that being out front for four hours is too long. So, I’m hoping that these shorter time blocks will allow for more of you to come volunteer in the shop. I can’t do this without you!

P.S. If you all hate this new schedule layout, I can always change it back. But humor me, and let’s try. :)
